project for a street corner (Fremont St)

Artist and about thirty Las Vegas residents formed a snake dance and a conga line on Fremont Street, amidst a crowd of tourists momentarily at a standstill, transfixed by the “Fremont Street Experience” video spectacle. Our real life performance was staged during a show, to affect the prevailing zombie-like behavior of the crowd through the insertion of our own different behavior in that space.

From an ongoing series of videos documenting experimental, participatory group performances devised to covertly affect the behavior of passersby, in crowded urban public spaces in New York City (Manhattan and the Bronx), Berlin, Las Vegas, and New Delhi.

project for a street corner (Fremont St) was performed in 2010 with Las Vegas Contemporary Arts Center during its Off The Strip new genres festival.
