Installation view, project for a street corner (WTC PATH), 2008, LMCC Swing Space at 100 Church Street, New York, NY

Videotaped thirteen stories above a plaza in front of the World Trade Center PATH station entrance, a group of high school students and artist stand in a circle during the midst of the evening commute. Over the span of eleven minutes, the performers' circle shapes a regular stream of commuters into a smaller, then wider column. The circle gets broken as individuals walk through it.

From an ongoing series of videos documenting experimental, participatory group performances devised to covertly affect the behavior of passersby, in crowded urban public spaces in New York City (Manhattan and the Bronx), Berlin, Las Vegas, and New Delhi.

Workshopped and performed with students from Murry Bergtraum High School.

project for a street corner (WTC PATH) was produced during a Swing Space studio grant at 100 Church Street, supported by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and the September 11th Fund.
